High Cholesterol and High Blood Pressure (HBP) is becoming a more common thing throughout Western Society. I’m sure we all know someone in our life that is dealing with this. Unfortunately and truthfully it is not only due to our genetics but more so caused by our diet. If you’re tired of popping a million prescription pills and want an alternative answer please continue reading.
There are so many SUPER BENEFICIAL HERBS out there that I think I‘m going to start an “Herb of the Week”. This is one of the main reasons I wanted to start this blog. So many people think that they have to deal with their issues in silence or if they do speak up they will have to take a prescription with horrific side effects. This isn’t always necessary, a lot of issues we deal with can be handled with beautiful herbs that Mother Nature blessed us with.
Good News! In most cases it can be reversed without taking that little blue pill. But it will take some lifestyle changes on your part.
Studies have shown that impotence is often the first red flag that your arteries are becoming blocked, and artery blockages are commonly caused by the overconsumption of meat, eggs, and dairy products, which are high in cholesterol and saturated fat,” says Dr. Neal Barnard of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine. “Animal products increase the amount of cholesterol in the blood. This cholesterol enters the blood vessels and creates plaque on the interior walls, which narrows the passageway for blood flow,” Barnard says.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) suggests that there are three main causes of infertility: deficiency syndrome, stagnancy syndrome and heat syndrome.
When you are deficient this means your hormones are not properly influencing the sexual and reproductive functions.
When you are stagnant your body is preventing the sexual and reproductive organs from functioning despite normal hormone levels and a normal ability to respond to hormones. This has the impact of restricting circulation to tissues.
The heat syndrome may be associated with an infection or inflammatory process. It can produce abnormal semen quality leading to male infertility, while gynecologic infections can cause female infertility by blocking the passages, altering the mucous membrane conditions or influencing the local temperature.
All three syndromes can be treated with Chinese herbs, acupuncture or a combination of both. These traditional Chinese approaches can also, and are often, combined with Western medicine in treating infertility.
In the link below it gives you multiple healing clinics throughout the world that focus on battling chronic diseases including cancer through a holistic approach. You don’t have to fight caner alone, and Chemo and Radiation are not the only way to combat this. Many people have had much success fighting chronic disease with the assistance of complimentary medicine.
For my first herb post I figured I would start with one of my favorite herbal formulas right now, Da Qing Ye (Isatidis Folium) aka Isatis Leaf and Ban Lan Gen (Isatidis Radix) aka Isatis stem. This Herb is fantastic at warding off febrile diseases. One of the main febrile diseases we see in America is the Flu(any kind of flu). This plant can be taken internally and is thought to have antibacterial, antiviral, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory actions. These herbs can also be applied externally to combat mumps. A beautiful formula is Ban Lan Gen Chong ji, patients come in with fever and sore throat start taking this tea and usually see quick improvement with their symptoms. It can also be used preventatively. This formula was used in China when they experienced the SARS outbreak and has become a staple in many household medicine cabinets. The formula can use the stem, the leaf, and usually a variety of different plants that accentuate the effects. Please feel free to check out the blog post below on it.
*You can usually find this formula online and easily obtain it. Of course anytime you feel sick I highly encourage you to see a DAOM or Naturopath and get prescribed the proper dosage based on your symptoms and your size. While most herbs are very safe it is highly recommended you see a professional when looking into herbs. Lucky for you getting in to see a DAOM is usually same day and doesn’t require insurance. Most apts are very inexpensive ranging anywhere from $45-$100, and this usually includes an acupuncture treatment and herbs. *
Hi and welcome to my site. First things first, I am very passionate about helping people become educated on healthy lifestyle choices and expanding their knowledge on how nutrition and Tradition Chinese Medicine can truly benefit ailments. I think a great place to start on encouraging people to educate themselves is to mention the China Study done by Dr. T. Colin Campbell.
To save you from all the boring details the basics behind the China Study examines the relationship between the consumption of animal products and chronic illnesses such as coronary heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Dr. Campbell studies multiple regions throughout china over a 20 yr span. He concludes that people who eat a whole-food, plant-based/vegan diet i.e. avoiding all animal products and reducing their intake of processed foods can avoid, reduce or reverse the development of numerous diseases. The poorest regions who couldn’t afford animal products had nearly no form of these diseases whereas the wealthier regions who consumed animal products on a daily basis had chronic diseases and a higher rate of cancer. If you are one who enjoys reading I highly suggest getting the book The China Study, if your more of a visual person there is documentary on Netflix called “Forks over Knives” that’s does a fantastic job describing this study.
Thank you for visiting my page and I look forward to bringing you a lot more info on these subjects. In the meantime please take some time to check out these sights and educate yourself more on how a diet consisting of whole foods can prevent and even reverse sever diseases.
Ancient Wisdom Modern Research
I am currently studying to become a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, I’m a vegan, and I want to motivate you to live a healthier happier life! Throughout my studies I have come across beneficial health information that I wish was more available to the American Public. For thousands of years Eastern Medicine has used Herbs, Acupuncture, and Nutrition to treat medical conditions from something as simple as a cold or orthopedic discomfort to more extreme traumas and epidemics. My goal is to give awareness to most of these herbs, acupuncture points, and nutritional aspects that have kept millions of people healthy without the horrific side effects of the more current western biomedicine prescriptions.
Follow me for motivation and feel free to ask any questions along the way.
“The doctors of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the care and prevention of disease”
“The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.”
